Trinity Scriptures
- THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD IN SCRIPTURE
Deut. 4:35 “To you it was shown that you might know that the LORD (YHWH), He is God; there is no other besides Him.”
Deut. 32:39a ‘See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me.
1 Ki. 8:60 …”so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no one else.”
Is. 43:10 “You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD (YHWH),
And My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.”
Is. 45:5a “I am the LORD (YHWH), and there is no other;
Besides Me there is no God.”
Is. 45:22 “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
For I am God, and there is no other.
Is. 46:9 “Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me”
2. HINTS OF THE PLURALITY OF GOD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT
Deut. 6:4 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD (YHWH) is our God, the LORD (YHWH) is one!”
Gen. 1:1 “In the beginning God (elohim / plural) created the heavens and the earth.”
Gen. 1:26a “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…”
Gen. 3:22 “Then the LORD (YHWH) God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us”
Gen. 11:7 “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”
3. THE SCRIPTURES AFFIRM THE DEITY OF JESUS
Is. 9:6 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
2 Pet. 1:1 Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
Heb. 1:8 But of the Son He says,
“YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER,
AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.”
Titus 2:13 …looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
Col. 1:14-17 …(Jesus) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Who created ALL THINGS?
Is. 44:24 Thus says the LORD (YHWH), your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,
“I, the LORD (YHWH), am the maker of all things,
Stretching out the heavens by Myself
And spreading out the earth all alone”
Heb. 1:1-3 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
4. THE FIRST AND THE LAST
Is. 41:4b “I, the LORD (YHWH), am the first, and with the last, I am He.”
Is. 44:6 “Thus say the LORD (YHWH), the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD (YHWH) of hosts:
‘I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me.”
Rev. 1:10-11a “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying, ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,”
Rev. 1:17-18 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Rev. 22:13 (Jesus speaking) “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
5. THE SCRIPTURES CALL THE HOLY SPIRIT GOD:
Acts 5:1-4 But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife’s full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.
You can grieve the Holy Spirit:
Eph. 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit played a part in creation:
Gen. 1:2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
Job 33:4 “The Spirit of God has made me,
And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
The Spirit of God Indwells God’s People:
Rom. 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
The Holy Spirit is a PERSON, sent from the Father, directing you to the Son:
John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
The Temple of God is the Temple of the Holy Spirit:
1 Cor. 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Cor. 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
6. THE TRINITY FORMULA IS REPEATED THROUGHOUT THE NEW TESTAMENT
Matt. 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,”
2 Cor. 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.”
Gal. 4:6 “Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
1 Peter 1:2 “according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
7. THE TITLES AND ATTRIBUTES OF THE ONE TRUE GOD ARE ALL SHARED BY THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are each called God:
Phil.1:2 “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Titus 2:13 “…looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,”
Acts 5:3-4 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
Father, Son, and Spirit “created”:
Gen. 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Isaiah 44:24 Thus says the LORD (YHWH), your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, I, the LORD (YHWH), am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself and spreading out the earth all alone,”
John 1:3 All things came into being through Him (Jesus), and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
Col. 1: 15-16 He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all thing have been created through Him and for Him.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
The Case for Who Raised Jesus from the Dead
Acts 3:15 …but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.
Acts 4:10 …let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead - by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
Acts 13:30 “But God raised Him from the dead”
John 2:19, 21 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
John 10:17-18 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. “No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
God Lives in True Believers:
God the Father -
2 Cor. 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
God the Son -
Col. 1:27 to whom God willed to make know what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

God the Holy Spirit -
1 Cor. 2:10-11 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.

Or you gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Acts 13:2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

According to the results of his deeds.
